The Savant Host is the brain of the Savant SmartSystem™ controlling all aspects of automation and control, user interface (UI) and system administration and monitoring. Furthermore, it acts as an iTunes® media server for storage and playback of iTunes content. In addition, the UI software resides within the Savant Host and communicates with Savants entire line of user interfaces including touch panels, remotes, keypads, mobile devices and On-Screen Displays (see TrueCommand). The UI software provides advanced 2-way control of components and services commonly deployed in automation and control environments. As a result, the host is an essential component that is a part of any complete Savant control solution. iTunes Media Server The Savant Host provides an integrated iTunes Media Server. The iTunes Media Server is a premier digital audio music playback and management system providing instant access to your entire music collection from any Savant user interface. Play up to four independent audio streams from the iTunes music archive simultaneously, which is like having four separate CD players.
