Bituminous underlay for roof slates and tiles. Strong and very resistant to nail tearing due to its polypropylene reinforcement. Flexible. Waterproof: due to the bitumen coating. Easy to fix: red guide lines facilitate the location of the overlaps. Absorbs wind loads: thus reducing wind uplift forces. Gain in fixing time and economy of material: due to its width of 1.25 m. MAIN USES Fel’X is a flexible underlay for the protection of lofts and roof timbers from the risk of damage from water and the penetration of powder snow, soot and dust. It also absorbs some of the wind loads and therefore reduces the wind uplift forces on the slates or tiles. Fel’X may be used equally well in both new and renovation work. Fel’X is not intended to be left exposed but will act as a temporary waterproofing for a few days prior to the fixing of the slates or tiles. Fel’X can be installed by draping over the rafters in traditional roof constructions. It can also be fixed in conjunction with counter battens for improved wind resistance. APPLICATIONS By fixing taut over rafters (with counter battens) or by draping over rafters (without counter battens). Preservative treatments applied to timber that will be in contact with Fel'X must be compatible with bitumen. Fel'X must be fixed in accordance with local practices and recommandations. Adequate ventilation must be provided in accordance with local practices and recommandations.
