Precast concrete box culvert U

SPC Precast concrete U-Drains are designed in accordance to BS 8110: 1985. The sizes of U-Drain ranging from 600mm to 3650mm width and are of various heights. All U-Drains are standard length of 1m. SPC U-Drains are made from high strength concrete. The characteristic strength of concrete is 30-40 N/mm2 at 28 days. SPC U-Drains are supplied with or without Dry Weather Flow (DWF) and weepholes are provided for drainage of the retained soil.These weepholes may also be used as lifting holes. SPC U-Drain may be laid on prepared sand bedding, 73mm thick of lean concrete bed or in cases of bad grounds place a layer of hard core beneath the sane bed before laying the U-Drain. A spreader bean should alwyas be used when sliging the U-Drain to avoid crack in the legs (refer figure). SPC U-Drains are supplied with plain butt joint. It is recommended that cement mortar be used to fill the gap between U-Drain units.
