The work you can see in these pictures consists of two public helical staircases in front of the Garda Exhibition center in Montichiari, Brescia. The buyer requested two AISI 304 grade stainless steel helical staircases with two stringers to provide access to the first and the second floor of the buiding. The steps are made of stone and, since the staircase is subject to intense traffic, we installed stainless steel trays to contain the steps, according to regulations in force, in order to avoid the formation of cracks. The railing is formed by round tubular vertical rods fixed to the stringer and by eight horizontal rods mounted externally with supports. Everything is made using AISI 304 grade satin-finish stainless steel. The horizontal rods and the upper handrail were specifically curved in order to follow the shape of the staircase. Thanks to meticulous welding on site, which is the distinguishing touch of every Steely project, we fixed the satin-finish handrail in round tubular steel to the vertical uprights using steel rods. As there is a large glass window on the side walls, the structure of the staircase is supported by stainless steel shelves set up against the walls. This guarantees a high level of rigidity and safety. The work is completed by the use of stainless steel for the first and the second floor balustrades as well, in the same style as the stair railing, in order to provide overall harmony.
