Designed exclusively for STEPEVI by Juan Montoya, the Moon Island is inspired by the mysterious and romantic shimmer of moonlight on calm waters during a breezy summer evening. Providing a contemporary twist on traditional antique carpets, Montoya’s design suitably draws influence from constellations, planets and cosmic analogy. He comments: “The fascination of the starry sky in the countryside was my inspiration for this carpet collection. The moon, was the driving force with its asymmetrical form and scintillating expression. It always intrigued me and continually put my imagination in a cosmic state.” The dramatic Moonlight collection Moon Island rug, a collaboration between designer Juan Montoya and STEPEVI, features tones of grey, ecru and navy blue. STEPEVI Moonlight rugs can be customized to any size and/or shape in selected colors within 4 weeks.
