The surface of the "Mauerblume" has been under construction for a few years already and under the peeling plaster here and there reveals the view of fragments of an underlying ornamental flower pattern.
Please take this name, which means wallflower, literally. The “Mauerblume” is no wallflower in the figurative sense. It is definitely not inconspicuous. It combines the literal meanings of wall and flower – and does so in an extremely hip, shabby chic kind of way. Like a wall that has been around for a good a few years, fragments of an underlying ornamental floral pattern are revealed here and there, peaking through the render. The result is quite the opposite of the plain floral pattern: city cool at its best.
