A water-efficient collaborative planter to greenify cities
This urban furniture serving urban greenery evokes an oasis of freshness in the heart of urban life. It is grounded in well-established practices from arid regions and natural mechanisms. Our vision redefines urban design, drawing inspiration from a symbiosis with vegetation and an avant-garde approach to water management.
At the core of this proposal stands an oasis that offers a shaded haven, an invitation to rejuvenate, refresh, and contemplate the urban landscape. The influence of the genius of keyhole gardens in arid African climates is reflected in this design, highlighting the natural ingenuity within the urban environment.
Our urban planter seamlessly merges the presence of vegetables, aromatic and climbing plants, creating a symphony between humans and nature. It encourages active participation in urban horticulture, both in the city and in schools, transforming urban spaces into productive oases. Our project promotes awareness, education, and the establishment of sustainable food resilience.
The echo of our commitment to sustainability resonates in every element of this design. Built with durable materials, enriched by a rainwater collection system, and supported by the strategic presence of mulch and ollas, this urban furniture concept drastically minimizes water requirements.
