Description

GLAZING BARS FOR WINDOWS A glazing bar is a rigid bar that connects two separate panes of glass. Traditionally, glazing bars were used in sash and other styles of window. They enabled the manufacturer to combine smaller, less expensive, panes of glass to create a large window. More recently, they tend to be used for aesthetic reasons to give a more traditional look and feel to a new house. VELFAC windows glazing bars Glazing bars configurations can change your house appearance. You have countless combination options m to give your personal touch to your project. Use glazing bars to add character and style to your VELFAC windows – use vertical or horizontal bars to maintain a uniform pattern formed by mullions or transoms, or to create a Georgian style window divided into smaller panes. They can also be used to combine two different types of glazing in the same sash, for example in ‘apron’ areas of glazing. Glazing bars options Glazing bars are available in 36mm, 54mm and 115mm to match transoms and mullions. 36mm and 54mm internal profiles are available in grey, white & black. Glazing bars are not available for fire windows and doors. DOUBLE AND TRIPLE GLAZED WINDOWS Whether you’re designing a new build or looking to renovate an existing home, glazing massively impacts the aesthetic of a home, but it is also crucial to consider the thermal efficiency of the different options. Choosing the best glazing option for your project All VELFAC windows are double glazed as standard, and deliver impressive thermal and acoustic insulation, which can be further improved with triple glazing.
