The Solid Hooks wall hooks are practical and decorative at the same time: everything that hangs on it immediately gets a stylish look! They are made of solid copper, brass or (tempered) steel. By means of the included screw, the coat hooks are easy to attach to the wall. The Solid Hooks can also be used as handles on kitchen cabinets and other cabinets. You can easily screw on the knob via the back of the cabinet door. The Solid Hooks has been part of the Vij5 collection since 2016. They excel in their simplicity because they are made of a pure and solid material. This purity is what immediately appealed to us. The first Solid Hooks were available in copper. Soon, a brass version followed. In 2018, we introduced a version made of tempered steel. Steel tempering is normally applied to increase the elasticity and plasticity of the material. When steel is heated beyond 200 °C, it undergoes a wild transformation of colours. Therefore, the Solid Hooks is not tempered to improve the elasticity of the steel, but to create beautiful colours! The Solid Hooks are CNC turned from solid copper, brass or steel. This base of the Solid Hooks is made by a producer in the Eindhoven region, after which the items are further processed by Max in his studio in Eindhoven. In the case of the copper and brass version, the wall hooks are sanded. In the case of the steel version, the wall hooks are tempered by Max. Tempering steel is a technique that Max has further developed and applies manually to his products. The colour palette of the tempered Solid Hooks originates from the base material and varies from piece to piece, making each hook unique.
