Description

With its sculptural design, light weight and exceptional seating comfort the Tripolina is considered the precursor of the Hardoy Butterfly Chair. For the first time presented to the public in 1904 at an exhibition in Saint Louis, the chair became quickly popular. So was the Tripolina well received among the military because of its flexible handling, and also artists appreciated the then unprecedented comfort. The industrialist Joseph Fenby had construction and design of the Tripolina already patented in 1877. However, the true inventor of the chair is still considered unknown. WEINBAUMS has refined the original design of the Fenby Tripolina Chair and uses for its covering only vegetable tanned leather from Catalonian producers. The frame is manufactured from wood of the Patagonian Cherry; it is foldable and weather resistant. * Design: Joseph B. Fenby, 1877 * Weight: 7,150 g * Cover: Holstein cattle leather (3.5 mm thick, "honey brown“, origin: Catalonia/Spain), handmade and hand-picked, odorless, first-class quality without noticeable scars * Frame: Lenga (wood from the Patagonian Cherry); foldable and waterproof Care instructions: Leather covers are easy to clean. Dry dirt can be removed by hand or with a small brush; heavy contaminants can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that your ordered item is handmade and may therefore differ slightly from the above pattern.
