Description

Josef Hoffmann originally designed the geometrically functional model in 1905 as a one-off piece. As more and more contemporaries recognized its aesthetic added value, it was mass-produced from 1908 to 1916. With the Sitzmaschine, Wittmann enriches the Recreation Hoffmann with a particularly prominent member. Josef Hoffmann originally designed the geometrically functional model in 1905 as a one-off piece. As more and more contemporaries recognized its aesthetic added value, it was produced in series from 1908 to 1916. The square rods were particularly unusual: one of Thonet's sons had developed this sophisticated technique. Wittmann now revives it - in the same precise curvature. From an art-historical point of view, it is interesting that the seat machine with its "strict" design anticipated some of Rietveld's equally famous red and blue chair. With our innovative product configurator, you can now already customize your dream furniture online. The different variants of the models as well as the entire Wittmann fabric and leather collection are available to you at your fingertips.
