BOLID, designed by Oskar Zieta originally for the Pirelli flagship store in Milan, is a unique mirrored object and a sculpture: a decorative version of the streamlined longboard’s form, an alternative “mean of transport” in the contemporary urban landscape that will fit a modern interior: whether a minimalist apartment or an extravagant loft. It will take you straight to the border between art and design. BOLID was created from polished steel using the FiDU technology. The mirror in the shape of a longboard aimed to meet Pirelli´s expectations of an inspirational product made in highly innovative technology. It accompanied and completed the display incarnating Pirelli’s approach to design. The dynamic shape of a wooden board, adjusted to the laws of aerodynamics, has been translated by Zieta Studio to steel, a material widely explored by Zieta Studio in its cutting-edge collection of mirrors, chairs and tables.
