Part of the Zoffany x Michael S. Smith Indoor Outdoor Fabrics collection, Cabana Cloth is a hand‑inspired textured fabric woven in Italy. Constructed with different-weight yarns in the weft and weave, it creates a tactile, artisanal surface. Manufactured from solution-dyed acrylic and finished with a C0 fluorine-free treatment, the fabric provides durable water and stain repellency as well as mould resistance. It delivers excellent lightfastness and a soft, natural handle suitable for interior architecture and specification projects.

Artistry
Original motifs were identified during the restoration of Temple Newsam and carefully revived for this collection. The textiles reference historical craft techniques while being adapted for contemporary architectural applications, preserving original character within a technical textile specification.

Provenance
Development involved collaborations with skilled makers and scholars to ensure design integrity and traceable provenance. This approach supports specification decisions where origin and artistic authorship are relevant to project documentation.

Restoration
Influences range from Chinese silks to French cottons discovered during research. Restorative practice underpins the collection, with respect for source materials and documented authenticity applied throughout product development.
