The Lounge Chair by Charles and Ray Eames is one of the great furniture designs of the twentieth century. Offering ultimate comfort, this elegant chair has been produced by Vitra since the 1950s using virtually the same production techniques and high-quality materials. The Lounge Chair comes in two sizes and various combinations of leather or fabric upholstery covers, wooden shells and bases.
In order to shorten supply chains and avoid the overuse of certain types of wood such as oak, Vitra is increasing the share of European woods in its product portfolio and introducing new wood varieties grown in Europe: cherry, chestnut and walnut. These new varieties are joining existing European woods in the collection, such as oak and ash. The Eames collection is the first within the Vitra portfolio to be updated with the new wood options, bringing a fresh natural aesthetic to established classics.
