CATIA ESTEVES

Graduated in architecture, Cátia Esteves has been working as a designer and craftsman since 2013. The Cátia Esteves brand offers tailor-made lighting sculptures that explores the relationship between architectural space, matter, form and light.

Her creations, handcrafted in Paris, give another dimension to four materials that surround us every day, offering them a new functional and aesthetic use. Light dialogues with matter and challenges the physical limits of the object through the interplay of shadow and generated light.

The organic forms of these sculptures echo nature and question our relationship to time.

Cátia Esteves' work is based on a social awareness approach. A reflection on the ecological footprint of our actions that focuses on three creative fields: the design of lighting sculptures, the creation of art installations and urban interventions.

Cátia develops a know-how and work on recycled material that has earned her several scholarships and awards. Artisan d'art, invited to represent the Chamber of Crafts and Trades at Berlin's Museum of Decorative Arts, the City Hall in Paris, the Grand Palais in Paris, among others, she is also one of the winners of the Fondation d'entreprise Banque Populaire for the art crafts category.
