These curtains were developed using the latest advancements, made possible through Japanese engineering, and sold in Japan as “Cool Curtains,” while overseas they are sold as “Thermal Insulation Curtains.” In a word, they act as a heat shield, suppressing the entry of heat into a room. These curtains from Sakai Lace are made from a specialized thread, custom-ordered from Teijin Ltd., and only available to our company. Normal threads are made from about 50 fibers, but this custom thread is constructed from 288 fibers, almost 6 times the amount. In addition, by kneading specialized titanium oxide into the threads, this fabric can reflect outdoor sunlight and helps to minimize the amount of heat passing through.

By suppressing heat, the curtains do not allow outdoor air into rooms during summer, which increases cooling efficiency. Conversely, in winter, by trapping warm air inside, they increase heating efficiency.
