The system is probably the easiest, quickest, most reliable fool-proof system for the construction of housing projects worldwide. Our system presents manifold advantages. One of the main advantages is the rapidity of construction. Once the foundation is laid, a simple one-storey structure, can be erected by 2/3 unskilled labourers in about 2/3 days.

Another advantage is that the system is designed to eliminate error; the blocks fit onto each other like LEGO bricks - the margin of error is 5 cm, i.e. any mistake is detected immediately and can be corrected without effort. The VHG scaffolds (straightening and mounting brackets) prevent unwanted bulges and warping of the walls and keep the walls at a perfect angle.

One disadvantage of the ICF System is the un-feasibility of transportation. Obviously, as the ICF elements are made of expanded polystyrene, they are extremely light and take up considerable volume, so any financial gains from the rapidity of construction are lost in transportation when shipped over longer distances. Technically one would be shipping air. This is the reason why we also sell ICF blocs, the ICF moulds and production plant itself. We deliver and implement ICF moulds and turn-key production plants around the world.

From our experience in Europe we are convinced that our technology is perfectly suited to the housing requirements. Traditional construction is labour-intensive. We have studied the construction market in depth, and have made comparisons of the construction costs using the various systems. According to our calculations, our system offers the highest profit margins possible. But another important aspect is Insulation. Not only is our system the fastest and cheapest in terms of construction, at the same time it also provides the world's highest insulation values. As the insulation is included in the construction, there are no gaps or hollows between the insulation panels and the walls, and therefore, a very long life-time is guaranteed.

VHG produces Neopor formwork blocks with the highest energy savings. An independent German research institute, Passive House Institute (PHI), has thoroughly tested, approved and certified VHG elements as suitable for passive houses for 2 climate zones. VHG elements are now certified for the temperate Central European climate and for the extremely cold climate zones, e.g. most regions in Northern and Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.
