A drinking fountain may be designed for public use or be installed in busy offices. It is normally connected to a main water supply and may be designed for indoor and/or outdoor use. It may be wall-mounted, freestanding or embedded. Some supply chilled water. Activation is electronic, or via a knob, lever or foot pedal, with automatic shut-off when the control is released.
These devices are found in public spaces, schools, gardens, offices, shopping centers, libraries and other high-traffic areas.
Popular materials for water fountains include stainless steel and cast iron.
Consider activation system and water chilling options. Outdoor models should be weatherproof and corrosion-resistant. Consider ease of cleaning, resistance to impact and abuse, as well as how the style fits its surroundings. Stainless steel complements contemporary environments, while cast iron may be more suitable for traditional, natural and other exterior settings.
