An ozone generator disinfects water by the introduction of ozone. The ozone destroys bacteria and other waterborne microorganisms before it is transformed into oxygen. The process is entirely ecological and presents no danger to humans.
ApplicationsThese devices can be used to make water potable, as in municipal systems, or suitable for bathing, e.g., in home or public swimming pools.
TechnologiesLarge-scale generators transform oxygen in the air into ozone using electrodes. Units for small pools or hot tubs use UV rays. The ozone is injected into the filtration system where it disinfects the water before being transformed back into oxygen.
