The 2008 show will witness the presentation of the Tropicalia collection, the design of which starts off from the same structure as the Antibodi collection, though using weaving techniques.
The collection comprises a chaise longue, couch, armchair, chair, outdoor bed, swinging nest....
The design envisages a tubular steel structure with complex geometrical shapes, embellished with a clever weft of threads that alternate solids and voids to a specific pattern, paying meticulous attention to detail.
Each object in the collection takes on a different personality depending on the material and the colour used. It can be made playful and cheerful by using thermoplastic polymer threads free of heavy metal and recyclable, sophisticated and precious by using leather, simple and elegant by using HT polyester double plaited cords in either one or two colours.
The coloured versions are made using three threads combining different colors and creating interesting colour mixes.
Structure
Base in stainless or varnished steel, seat made of string weave available in 3 different versions:
- polymer
- polyester HT
- leather

gloria's form is descibed by its tight upholstery. The striking steel frame plays with the upholstery, puncturing it in one point and seeming to float alongside it at another point.
gloria is upholstered onto a plywood shell with multi density cmhr foams. It conceals its bucketed seat which surrounds the body perfectly and provides a superior comfortable sit.

One day, out of the frenetic creative activity of Hannes Wettstein takes shape a sketch of a chair, whose backrest structure bends forward, defiying the known logic. The formal exercise is then translated into a functional element. During the industrial process the backrest becomes armrest as well, and the chair itself a small armchair. The use of sheet steel and steel rod makes it possible its production in a single facility, moreover it ensures the complete fireproofness of the chair, thus meeting the severe standards that rule the supply of furniture for public spaces. The rubber profile inserted in the curve of the backrest makes the grip soft and firm with a refined technological detail. This "ultralight" chair made out of nothing and many clever details is surprisingly comfortable. These characteristics make a real best-seller of Juliette, both for the residential and contract market, where it is requested for libraries, public exercises and conference halls.

There is magic in this surprising evolution of the cantilever design - a classic typology of the modern chair – signed by Jeff Miller. The outline of the high-back lends a regal air without becoming unwieldy. The plywood seat appears to be suspended in space magically. A glance below reveals that the seat is cantilevered entirely from the front edge of the frame: the trick is more surprising than the effect. The metal high-back is then free to hover away from the seatback, further emphasizing its visual role and providing some other functional ones – a handle for easy manoeuvring, and an unencumbered valet for one’s dinner jacket.
Monocoque cantilever chair with a three-dimensional curved plywood seat and a tubular aluminium structure with an elliptical cross-section. The shell is connected to the base only along the front edge and the seat remains visually suspended in space. The top part of the aluminium structure becomes a handle or a “jacket hanger”. The Backless version offers a reduced structure and consequently a smaller footprint, a lower weight and a great versatility of use. Both versions are available with polished aluminium structure and oak veneer shell in bleached white, open-pore asphalt black or upholstered in leather in three colours (natural, burgundy and black) and with aluminium structure painted in white, red or black and shell in lacquered wood in the same colour of the structure.

X3 design marco maran. Intense experimentation, research and innovation have given rise to X3: a collection of home & contract chairs that is unique in terms of materials and technology. Transparent, coloured, with a simple look but substantial design. X3 is made with an absolutely new technological procedure for furnishings: the single-piece seat and back is obtained from the bi-injection of two materials, transparent polycarbonate and mass-coloured Desmopan. The design has been patented because it is the result of a complex moulding technology that has been applied for the first time in this specific sector. The design of X3 has deliberately highlighted this technology with a transparent shaped sheet that has a regular square mesh structure. In the moulding process the first injection of polycarbonate forms the shell and the hollow mesh structure. The second injection of mass-coloured Desmopan fills the cavities evenly, strengthening the overall stability of the chair and adding the final aesthetic touch of colour. Thanks to the characteristics of the two materials used, the aesthetic results can be enhanced and varied with countless possible colour combinations between mesh structure and shell emphasized by the play of transparency.
