Berlin State Library, Unter den Linden
The cubic body of light of the new reading room incorporates the proportions of the historical predecessor building. Its dimensions are repeatedly underestimated: It integrates almost modestly in the much larger Wilhelminian historical building, but its expanse could easily accommodate the Berlin Dome.
ABC quarter stones 122 x 69 x 57 mm were applied for the restoration of the large patio facades.
An extension of the structure by two storeys in the interior and the new building of the reading room is part of the new construction measurements. The ceramic front will be established in the historical quarter stone format 122 x 69 x 12 mm on the TIC-system. ABC ceramic developed the glaze colour of the new building according to the historical model of the patios.
