Scandinavia’s oldest fixture
Gunnar Asplund is one of Sweden’s leading architects of all time and also internationally renowned. In 1922 he designed the pendant luminaire Asplund for The Skandia Cinema in Stockholm. It was manufactured and sold by Böhlmarks until the mid-1960s when Ateljé Lyktan took it over. Even today, every detail is manufactured in the same craftsmanship as it has always been.
Material & design
The luminaire consists of a hand-blown white opal glass shade and other details like chain and “crown” are handmade. Today, it is the luminaire in Scandinavia that has been in production for the longest time.
