Lavish cabriolet armchair after a model by C-E MICHARD (1732-1794) in French beechwood, painted white and gilded. The Louis XV's structure of the piece features in-curving side rails, a conspicuously carved backrest with rose cresting, stylized serpentine legs decorated at the apex with flowers and at the end with an acanthus leaf. The symmetrical floral ornamentation balances the sinuous outlines announcing thus a graceful and smooth classicism.
