Description

The Calgary Eaton Centre is a famous shopping centre in the heart of the Olympic City of 1988. A barrel-shaped skylight of point-fixed glass spans over the three buildings and both intermediate bridges. Roof span: 26.87 m. Total length of structure: 205 m. This is equivalent to a glazed area of approx. 5,000 sqm. The supporting structure of the glazed roof consists of curved tubes 273 x 11, sizes approx. 13.50 m, with a slightly eccentric field connection. Both sides of the arches are flexibly mounted on concrete brackets so that thermal expansion of the structure can be accommodated. The glazing as actual building shell has been suspended from this steel construction. Scope of Work 5,000 sqm of barrel-shaped skylight of point-fixed glass
