Yomei was established in 2006 by André Schelbach. He has been influenced by his practical work as a designer for the company s-designteam but has now developed his own personal style: a mix of artistic ambition and a healthy dose of pragmatism. The collection includes extraordinary pieces of functional furniture “Made in Germany”. The name Yomei comes from the Japanese and means “excellent”. Andre Schelbach lived in Japan for some time.
As soon as you see Yomei furniture, you will immediately notice something special: fine contours, high quality materials, precise workmanship and intelligent designs that are often only revealed on second glance. Yomei stands for functionality in design. The young Yomei collection has already received an award for its unique combination of form and functionality. The versatile MAGIC DESK earned the coveted red dot design award in 2008.

The products out of the Yomei collection are produced by a small, well trained staff in Detmold, a city in the middle of Germany. Yomei applies the highest standards for each piece, perfect craftsmanship down to the last detail and a permanent quality control. This top quality is provided by a factory that makes the furniture with utmost precision. The ideas of the designer André Schelbach are realized in a light and modern atmosphere one to one.
