Description

A practical, solid oak side chair that is perfect for everyday dining. Equally suitable as café seating. The oak Hardy side chair is the perfect chair for everyday dining; it is also very much at home in a café environment. It is the smaller sibling of the Hardy Chair, a chair that drew inspiration from two chair typologies from the 19th century, Thomas Hardy’s birth century: firstly the Captain’s chair originally a low-backed wooden armchair and secondly, the Smokers bow, a low back Windsor, often used in smoking rooms, public houses, barbers shops and cottages. Old Furniture, a poem by Dorset-born Thomas Hardy, is an ode to beauty of furniture being handed down the generations. We think the oak side chair would make Mr Hardy quite pleased. Designed by David Irwin for Another Country
