The new complex, designed by M3 Architectes, is located in Kirchberg, at the eastern entrance to the city of Luxembourg.
There are two buildings: a seven-storey building facing Viale J.F. Kennedy and a fourteen-storey tower.
Three environmental certificates have been obtained on the construction: BREEM, HQE, DGNB.
The project, on which we worked with a partner of the Contract Design Network, involved the construction of a multi-purpose hall.
The client, who intended both to use the hall privately and to lease it, wanted the large hall (over 500 m2) to be convertible from an auditorium with seating for 490 people on a stepped platform into a completely free open space in just a few minutes.
In order to satisfy the client’s aesthetic and technological needs, we designed a solution on demand with three different types of the same seat model: one with a retractable mechanism inside the 13 steps of the motorised telescopic tribune; one that is fixed to the floor but still removable; one installed on the part of the fixed grandstand into which the entire stepped platform system is retractable.
The seat technology is designed to be completely compatible with the sophisticated system of the telescopic tribune.
