A classic version of an Empire style stool with its white paint finishing and gold highlights on the mounts. Conceived as an Etruscan curule seat, it is traditionally ivory veneered and its curved legs form a wide X at which junction is erected a circle, Napoleon's symbol of perfection. During the Roman period it was intended for high-ranking magistrates or elected rulers; nowadays, it is a utilitarian stool that can be used as an extra seat.
