Wall/ceiling-mounted plate Decorative Ceramic Wall Plates

flatroundceramic

Overview
Every plate is hand-made and hand-painted in the Balian workshop on Nablus Road in Jerusalem. Each plate measures 8.7 in (22 cm) in diameter — the size of a salad plate — and is intended for both hanging and tabletop display. Because patterns are painted freehand, no two plates are identical, including items from the same order.

Ordering & Pricing
$60 each. Minimum order: two plates. A pair of 8.7 in (22 cm) plates (as shown) ships together for $80 insured, door-to-door via DHL within the USA (prices in US dollars). Ordering additional plates reduces shipping cost per plate when shipped in the same carton.

Shipping & Packaging
Door-to-door delivery to all 50 US states. Typical delivery time: 1–2 weeks from dispatch. Each plate is individually wrapped and packed in a double-walled carton. Breakage in transit is rare; damaged items are replaced upon receipt of photographic evidence.

Use & Materials
Food-safe; finished with lead-free, cadmium-free European glazes. Fired above 1,000°C (≈1,832°F) to vitrify the surface. Dishwasher-safe; hand washing with a soft cloth and mild detergent is recommended to preserve colour vibrancy.

How the plates are painted
All patterns are painted freehand in the studio, drawing on Armenian ceramic linework traditions (illuminated-manuscript motifs). Common motifs include birds (peacocks), gazelles and deer, roses, tulips, leaves and forest patterns. The peacock motif is typically the most time-consuming to paint.

How to hang

• Adhesive disc hangers: recommended for plates you may take down and use; wetted vinyl disc cures to the back and hangs from a nail.
• Spring-wire plate hangers: secure, but the arms may be visible from the front on this size.
• Plate stands and picture ledges: recommended for rentals or plaster walls where drilling is not preferred.

Notes on variation
Each plate is hand-painted; the product received will be close to the photograph but not identical. Variations in brushwork, motif tilt or exact shade are part of the handmade character.
