These tubular piles are steel pipes without a baseplate. Ballast Nedam Funderingstechniek can supply and install a wide variety of tubular piles with diameters ranging from 0.5 to 3 metres. If required, the piles can be provided with anti-corrosion coating.
Properties of steel tubular piles
Steel tubular piles can absorb very high compression and tension forces.
They are exceptionally resistant to horizontally-directed forces.
However, the delivery time of these types of piles are the long delivery times and their size and length make road transport difficult.
Use of steel tubular piles
Steel tubular piles can be used onshore and offshore. They serve as the foundations for wind turbines, crane gantries and jetty structures, as well as for the mooring posts, hawser posts and guard walls required for mooring vessels. Ballast Nedam drove the steel piles for a jetty for cruise ships in the port of Sint Maarten.
