Antique French limestone farmhouse fireplace : This is an antique limestone chimneypiece featuring discretely sculpted Classic forms rather than finely-carved décor. It will have originally been a fireplace used for cooking and heating, in a farmhouse kitchen or a living room, and has a slight forward cantilever to favour access and radiant heat distribution. It is presumed 19th century or earlier.
