EeStairs was selected to provide a stylish set of staircases to a luxury home in one of the USA’s most famous neighbourhoods, Bel Air, California. Orum Residence is an 18,000 square foot property, designed to subtly ‘float’ above and maximise the views of its area. Using a triangular shape defined by the architect, EeStairs engineered a staircase with a mild steel construction that doesn’t require any mid-support. The weight of the staircases requires for support to be taken from the inside stringer and passed to its outside with extra supports hidden inside each mid-landing. Due to the area being prone to earthquakes, seismic code and he weight of the staircases stone treads had to be taken into consideration by EeStairs, who ultimately, were able to meet all requirements.
