Glazed solar tube SRD-Z

Overview
The SRD-Z is a domed sun tunnel engineered to deliver natural daylight into interior spaces of buildings with pitched roofs (roof pitch 15°–60°) and profiled roofing up to 45 mm. It uses a rigid, highly reflective aluminium light-transmitting tube, a weather-resistant domed exterior and an integrated prismatic diffuser to provide uniform daylight distribution to windowless rooms such as bathrooms, corridors and dressing areas.

Dome
The external dome is manufactured from UV-stabilised polycarbonate (3 mm) providing weather and UV resistance. Its rounded geometry promotes rain runoff and reduces soiling, protecting the internal tube and minimising maintenance requirements.

Light transmitting tube
The internal tube is rigid aluminium with a silver-based reflective coating offering up to 98% light conduction. Sealing tapes prevent light leaks and ingress of dirt. Standard tube lengths: 2100 mm for Ø250 and Ø350; 1800 mm for Ø550. Extension possible with SRM modules up to 12 m. SRK elbows are not included by default.

Light diffuser
The interior finish is an integrated prismatic diffuser mounted in the ceiling which diffuses incoming daylight evenly, ensuring comfortable illumination regardless of sun angle. An optional SLO/LSO light kit can be installed for conventional evening lighting.

External cladding and appearance
Outer cladding is corrosion-resistant sheet metal with integrated flashing (Typ Z) to ensure a watertight roof connection. Standard cladding colours: anthracite RAL 7016, grey-brown RAL 7022 and black RAL 9005 for a contemporary aesthetic.

Installation
Engineered for pitched roofs with profiled roofing materials. Installation pitch range: 15°–60°. Product includes sealing and mounting solutions to achieve airtight and watertight installation when installed with original accessories.

Maintenance and durability
Constructed for long-term performance with low maintenance. Dome material and metal cladding resist UV and weathering. The tube and sealing system reduce light leaks and limit dirt ingress.
