Overview
The PROFI+ garage door is built from 40 mm thick steel panels filled with high-density polyurethane (PUR) foam. Panels consist of two steel sheets with a tongue-and-groove joint and thermal seal to minimise thermal bridges. The whole structure is rigid, stable and airtight; the rated heat transfer coefficient for the complete door is U = 1.3 W/m2K, making it suitable for heated garages.

Torsion spring system
The door is available with different spring balancing systems adapted to the installation space: front torsion (F), rear torsion (R) and tension springs in guide rails (X). Springs are made of hardened, zinc-coated steel wire and are durability-tested for 20,000 operating cycles. A mechanical safety locking device prevents sudden door fall in case of spring failure. The spring configuration is selected based on garage depth and lintel height to ensure optimal balance and smooth operation.

Automation and drives
PROFI+ is compatible with typical garage door motor drives (examples: Sommer and Marantec) featuring soft start/stop and obstacle detection. Drive rail variants: toothed belt (quiet, high performance) and steel chain (robust for intensive use). Automation integrates with building systems and can be connected to FAKRO Smart Home via gateway. A radio remote control is included; optional photocells stop the door on obstacle detection.

Thermal protection and tightness
Peripheral and inter-panel EPDM rubber seals provide continuous sealing along side rails, top profile and bottom panel, reducing heat loss and noise. EPDM remains flexible across a wide temperature range. Insulation and tightness proven by class 3 air permeability and class 3 watertightness test results.

Durability and construction
Guide rails and fittings: 1.5 mm galvanised steel resistant to corrosion and deformation. Bearing rollers with vibration-damping bushings ensure smooth guidance; double roller system available for larger doors. All components fatigue-tested for at least 20,000 cycles.

Aesthetics and finishes
External panel surface finishes: woodgrain, smooth, deep mat, sand and wood-like textures. Paint coating resistant to UV, moisture and chemicals. Standard external colours include RAL 9016 (white), RAL 7016 (anthracite), RAL 8014 (brown), RAL 9006 (silver), RAL 9005 (black), plus decors: Golden Oak, Walnut, Winchester, Swamp Oak and Turner Oak. Interior face: RAL 9016 white.

Safety features
Mechanical spring breakage protection (locks shaft or guide mechanism on spring failure). Photocells (optional) and overload sensors in drives stop movement on obstacle detection. Segment profile designed to reduce risk of finger entrapment.
