The interlocking rectangles of our Enigma wallpaper are inspired by the encoding machine of the same name, famously deciphered by Alan Turing during the Second World War. Its combination of mathematical precision and engaging movement makes a mesmerising feature of any wall. Full roll width is 53cm/21", roll length is 10m and pattern repeat is 56.1 cm. A coat of the background colour is brushed on, creating the same visible brushstrokes, texture and added depth it would have in the 18th century. Then the embellishment follows, using flatbed, roller or the open-trough method. These techniques mean every repeat of the pattern is slightly different and completely unique.
