Description

The JG Folding Stool is one of Jørgen Gammelgaard’s most recognised pieces. Appreciated for its unique visual expression, cleverly conceived folding mechanism, high-quality craftsmanship and multi-functional approach. Base in stainless steel with seat in leather or canvas. Leather seat has canvas backing. No glides available. Jørgen Gammelgaard (1938-1991) gained recognition as part of a new era of industrial aesthetics. His award-winning work reflects a simple, refined approach to design and a refreshing take on minimalism. Originally trained as a cabinetmaker with the well-known master Copenhagen carpenter AJ Iversen, Gammelgaard worked under Grete Jalk. After studying furniture design under Poul Kjærholm at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, he worked at Arne Jacobsen’s studio in the late 1960s.
