Description

PIPE LOUNGE SHARES THE SAME CONCEPTUAL THEMES AS THE PIPE CHAIR. YET THE LOUNGE CHAIR LEAVES ITS OWN DISTINCT EXPRESSION AND CREATES A UNIQUE PRESENCE IN ITS SPACE. THE OUTLINE OF ITS SHELL TRACES ARMRESTS AND CONTINUES TO THE FLOOR — A FLOWING DESIGN THAT MEANS NO SUPPORT FRAME IS NEEDED. THE UPHOLSTERED SEAT IS MORE INTEGRATED WITH THE COMPLETE ORGANIC QUALITY OF THE CHAIR. ITS GENEROUS SPACE OFFERS EXTRA COMFORT AND ITS GENTLE ENCLOSURE EMBRACES YOU. PIPE emerged from designer Ida Hildebrand’s passion for elegant form and strong silhouettes. And the concept took shape with Friends & Founders’ expertise in using modern production to achieve high craftsmanship and exquisite detailing. In the PIPE CHAIR the designer’s emphasis on balance and comfort created an elegant experience and one made to last. Creating the PIPE collection presented aesthetic challenges for the designer Ida L. Hildebrand. It’s not easy to make a piece of furniture with the organic expressions we wanted when you have to balance them with comfort and what’s possible from a production standpoint. But the design of PIPE chair achieve these features Ida L. Hildebrand PIPE represents the standard of craftsmanship that Friends & Founders attaches to its brand: unwillingness to compromise. It means creations that stay true to the original aesthetic inspiration while striking a balance between design and functionality.
