Designer statement
“I grew up between Central America and Europe. My mother is Dutch, my father Guatemalan, born in Nicaragua and raised between Costa Rica and the Netherlands. What this gives you is the ability to recognize patterns. You begin to notice what keeps recurring—the same forms across cultures, through time, and even in nature itself. We are creatures that build meaning, and the objects we return to again and again possess a certain universality. The vase, the container, the window, for example, carry a symbolic weight that accumulates over time precisely because they respond to something constant.
