A multi-functional VRF 5-wire thermostat, Wi-Fi and BACnet adapter that can be used in 3 different modes to connect Hitachi VRF indoor units to a building management solution or to a residential smart thermostat. Smart Thermostat integration mode Each adapter can connect with a single VRF indoor unit (multiple adapters would be required for connecting to more than one unit) and integrate it with a Smart Thermostat via the thermostat’s dry contact input. This enables a range of popular smart thermostats to be used as a controller for the VRF indoor unit while also enabling remote management and control via the airZone Cloud app available for iOS and Android. Users can also connect to the smart thermostat cloud service, so the VRF unit can be controlled through the smart phone stat app or the dedicated airZone Cloud app. Wi-Fi integration mode For each indoor VRF unit connected to an adaptor can be controlled through a Wi-Fi network from the AirZone Cloud app available for iOS and Android. Building Management System mode The configurable onboard RS485 port can communicate with a building management system through BACnet MP/TP or Modbus RTU.
