The Trek pendant lamp has been designed as a reasonably-priced interior decor lamp, and is equally well suited to public and private spaces. Typical uses include above a dinner table, a coffee table, or a negotiation table. Even distribution of light towards the ground without glare is integral to the design of this lamp. Lightness and thinness were the key elements for ensuring that the lamp will not dominate the space and obscure the views. An efficient light source requires a high space in the middle of the lamp, and skilful design has embedded this stylishly into the design. The design language has also drawn inspiration from the visual elements of the Star Trek television series of the 1970s. Either an E27 energy saving lamp or a LED lamp can be used as a light source. The shallow reflection protector scatters the light efficiently. A new detail is the magnetic mounting of the reflection protector, which eliminates the need for visible mounting parts and makes it easy to replace the lamp when required.
