OverviewTo architect and sculptor Jonathan Muecke, material is elemental, repetition is clarity, and logic is freedom. In his first commercial collaboration with Knoll, Muecke applies the principles of his art practice to create an all-wood dining collection that reads with the familiarity of a kitchen table and chairs. The collection prioritizes material honesty and relational scale between objects and the human body.
DesignerDesign by Jonathan Muecke, 2025. Trained as an architect with an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Muecke works with single materials distilled to fundamental elements; his approach emphasizes materiality, spatial relationships and internal logic of objects.
FeaturesMaterial-led design: wood is used for its commonality and warmth. The collection explores grain, proportion and how pieces relate to one another in domestic and contract interiors. Forms are pared back to reveal construction and internal logic.
ConstructionThe frame is made of solid wood. The seat and backrest consist of a curved plywood panel, topped with sliced veneer matching the frame finish. Joints and proportions are designed to balance durability with refined appearance. Each piece bears the Knoll logo as a mark of authenticity.
