Mughal No.01 has been based on an original 16th Century prayer rug. Mughals are traditionally a blend of Persian and Indian design with scenic landscapes and small intricate animals. This particular Mughal design consists of vivid colours and a floral pattern, which has been modernised and brought into the 21st century with the use of vibrant colours and modern techniques such as oxidisation, which affects the wool beneath the overriding layer of silk, creating an extraordinary 3D effect with a unique look and antique appearance.
