The HUBLOT ("porthole" in english) rattan armchair has been designed by Guillaume Delvigne for Orchid Edition.
" I remembered of the braces that are systematically there on each rattan furniture. This feature, dramatically outlining he emptiness inside was a good start for the armrest piece. The rest of the whole armchair came naturally." Guillaume Delvigne
"Guillaume Delvigne's work immediately appealed to us because we felt a desire to build furniture out of rattan and nothing but rattan. Guillaume used all the by-products made from rattan cane: braided rattan core like the baskets, marquetry for flat surfaces reminiscent of floor mats, etc. The in-depth study of traditional designs allowed him to create solid structures with innovative shapes from the start.
This armchair is an extremely classic interpretation of the rattan armchair: curves, squares, ligatures. But its proportions and its quilted cushion worked like a shell make it both contemporary and timeless." Tina Ledi
