A veritable mixed-medium installation, this work is made up of polychrome blown glass bubbles, different in terms of processing and size, set on a background of independent iron plates, woven together by means of an interlocking system.
An alternative illuminating work, because it directly uses the natural light that filters from the back of the structure, this installation is proof of continuous experimentation and inexhaustible research on light conducted by Maestro Fornasier. In the front view, against the dark background of the metal plates, the different polychrome glass bubbles light up and shine pervaded by the sunlight, the resulting effect recalls the suggestions produced by the light when it filters through the leaded glass of the Gothic cathedrals, yet the forms are very modern in their essentiality, elementary, almost light pulses and sequences of information from the most recent cybernetics. Viewed from the side, it amazes and seduces with these volumes of color projected from the flat wall to conquer the surrounding space. Once again, in short, with the sensitivity that distinguishes these experiments of light, Fabio Fornasier collects with both hands suggestions from the most diverse origins and reassembles them in an unprecedented and surprising creation.
Bolle di MetalLU was exhibited at the Murano Glass Museum in 2016 and at the Salone del Mobile di Milano in 2019.
