Description

‘art is sometimes above nature‘ Vincent van Gogh to his brother Theo, 3 January 1883 The prestigious paintings by Vincent van Gogh, one of the most famous painters in the world, will be reproduced on hand-decorated majolica tiles of this Italian company. Ceramica Francesco De Maio has obtained the original license for the production, promotion and commercialization of the most famous and recognizable paintings worldwide. Eternal masterpieces with an unmistakable style. Almond Blossom, Sunflowers, Flowering Plum Orchard, Vase with Gladioli and Chinese Asters, Irises, Self-Portrait with Straw Hat are just some of the works by Vincent Van Gogh, which have been selected by Ceramica Francesco De Maio, together with the Van Gogh Museum, to create a new collection of entirely hand-decorated ceramics, dedicated to nature as an almost absolute protagonist. Celebrating Vincent van Gogh through the shared love for painting and the passion for the colours and the beauty of nature. Three years of intense work with the Van Gogh Museum has been spent for the sharing of creativity, inspiration and stylistic choices. All of this resulted in the creation of the first prototypes. A work of the laboratory technicians, the graphic designers and the master decorators of Francesco De Maio company, who put their heart and soul into it and have worked with the same perseverance for defining the glazes, colors and decorations to ensure that the canvases of the paintings were transformed into true works of art of decorated ceramic.
