This complex and multi-coloured collection was inspired by textures from the world of textiles. The shape of a tile is a simplified enlargement of the basic knit. The rhombus shapes can be arranged in three main patterns, each of which has a different impact.
Tex comes in eight different colours, which are each then split into three different tones: a mixture inspired by textile design where a single type of fabric might be composed of different coloured yarns. To increase the factor of surprise and stimulate creativity and customisation, the three tones are packaged at random, allowing unexpected compositions to emerge when tiling. In the same way the collection includes Runners, installations with set patterns, similar to mosaics. Runners allow certain graphic elements to be placed in particular places, both on walls and floors (a frame shape for example, or a central element or linear pattern). Tex is handmade in order to obtain a large variety of textures, authentic colouring and optimum tactile finish. Moreover, the coloured and natural top coat applied to the white ceramic creates a shine that is uneven in some places and more consistent in others.
