Description

The Be Grateful Wall Paper collection is a journey through different landscapes and cultures, exploring exotic countries such as India. The Delhi collection is inspired by the city of Delhi and the geometric pattern created by the intersections of the streets and houses in the Santosh Park and Uttam Nagar districts. The tones chosen for the 'Delhi' pattern are dominated by strong contrasts between colour and gold. The city of Delhi is found in northern India. With a population of 16,314,838, it is the second most populous city in India and the 15th largest in the world. It was the capital of several Indian empires in medieval times, and one of the largest cities along the ancient trading routes between India and the north-western regions of the Indo-Gangetic Plain. Due to large-scale immigration from all over the country, Delhi has grown into a cosmopolitan city. Its rapid growth and urbanisation, together with the relatively high average income of its population, has helped to transform the city. Today, Delhi is an important hub for Indian culture, politics and commerce. The neighbourhoods of Santosh Park and Uttam Nagar, both the inspiration for this pattern, are the most densely populated, and have the most buildings in the city of Delhi, an absolute exemplar of the structural characteristics of India's capital.
