IntroductionUniFix by Novoferm is a steel door frame designed for fast, simple and flexible installation. It accepts steel and timber door leaves and is suitable for solid walls and drywall construction. UniFix is available in two variants: Light for lighter leaves and Strong for heavier leaves. The decorative rebate on the hinge-opposite side visually resembles a timber frame for a homogenous appearance.
UNIFIX LIGHTUNIFIX Light is intended for door leaves up to 80 kg. It enables particularly fast and easy installation. The frame is assembled without screws (push-fit frame), saving time on site.
Backfilling (UniFix Light)- For door leaf weights up to 50 kg: partial backfilling of 50% (especially in hinge and lock areas) is sufficient.
- For door leaf weights up to 80 kg: 100% backfilling is required to ensure load capacity and deformation stability.
- Recommended backfilling material: appropriate assembly foam (see installation manual for details).
Two-part counterholderA set of wall counterholder and mirror counterholder stabilizes the push-fit frame at the frame base. The counterholder is required if the frame is not backfilled with foam or mortar. The two parts are tolerance-compensating and joined by one screw in the elongated hole; they are fixed to the wall base before frame installation. The counterholder can be used optionally with UniFix Light and UniFix Strong to further increase frame stability.
UNIFIX STRONGUNIFIX Strong is the solution for heavy door leaves up to 120 kg. This frame is mounted with screws and foam. Mechanical fastening via six flat-iron anchors provides particularly high stability, supported by suitable filling materials.
Backfilling (UniFix Strong)- For door leaves up to 50 kg and max. 1,000 mm leaf width: backfilling may not be necessary.
- For door leaves up to 80 kg: 50% backfilling is sufficient.
- For door leaves up to 120 kg: full backfilling is required to ensure maximum load capacity and long-term shape stability.
- Recommended backfilling material: appropriate assembly foam (see installation manual for details).
Colour rangeThe UniFix frames are supplied primed as standard (EC primer, light grey) and optionally powder-coated in RAL colours. Novoferm offers RAL colours, RAL design, metallic and special protective finishes.
- Powder coating with high certification (GSB)
- Good gloss and colour stability
- Excellent adhesion
- Good corrosion resistance
- High surface hardness
- Excellent abrasion resistance
Aesthetics & constructionFactory-welded mitres ensure corner strength and a clean continuous appearance. Powder-coated frames have welded and sanded mitres so the joint is largely invisible. Invisible mitres are possible; frames with standard primer are welded on the rear with connecting plates (slight seam visible).
Flexibility for wall tolerancesThe adjustable decorative rebate compensates wall tolerances reliably (range: −5 mm to +15 mm). Depending on the version, UniFix covers rebate widths from 80 mm and in some cases from 70 mm (smaller rebate widths may be available on request or depending on version).
Your benefits at a glance- Adjustable decorative rebate: compensates wall tolerances from −5 mm to +15 mm
- Suitable for rebate widths from 70 mm (some documents state from 80 mm depending on version)
- Screwless installation option with assembly foam or mechanical fixation with six flat-iron anchors
- Suitable for door leaf weights up to 120 kg (depending on variant)
- Available primed for site painting
- Also available powder-coated in RAL or custom colours
- Optional many electrical built-in components possible
InstallationUniFix installation proceeds in 3–4 clear steps. From fixing the optional counterholder to aligning the frame and the final assembly of the push-fit frame after foam curing, installers benefit from practical mounting details.
- Fixing the (optional) counterholder (depending on version/requirement one counterholder per side at the frame base)
- Aligning the frame: position and fix to the wall
- Backfilling: partial or full backfilling of the fixed frame
- Completion: push the frame into the clamping tabs
