Short description
UniFix by Novoferm is a steel door frame system designed for rapid, simple and flexible installation. It accepts both steel and timber door leaves and is suitable for masonry walls and drywall partitions. Available in two variants: UniFix Light for lighter doors and UniFix Strong for heavier doors. The decorative trim on the hinge-opposite side can be matched to timber frames to ensure a consistent visual appearance within a building.

UNIFIX LIGHT

• For door leaves up to 80 kg.
• Screwless installation for fast fitting.
• Partial and full backfilling: up to 50 kg a 50% backfill is often sufficient (notably at hinge and lock areas); up to 80 kg requires 100% backfill.
• Recommended backfill material: polyurethane assembly foam (see installation manual for details).
• Two-part counterholder (wall/mirror set) to stabilise the frame foot; required if no foam/mortar backfill is used; tolerance-compensating connection via elongated slot.
• Cross-section drawings and imagery available (socket frame / clamp tabs).

UNIFIX STRONG

• For door leaves up to 120 kg (solution for heavy doors).
• Installation with screws and assembly foam; mechanical anchoring via six flat-iron anchors for high stability.
• Backfilling: for leaves up to 50 kg and max 1,000 mm width backfill may not be necessary; up to 80 kg often 50% backfill; up to 120 kg requires full backfill to ensure rated load capacity and dimensional stability.
• Two-part counterholder optional to increase stability.
• Cross-section drawings and imagery available.

Advantages and features

• Adjustable decorative trim: compensates wall tolerances from -5 mm to +15 mm.
• Covers a wide adjustment range for throat widths (maulweiten), with references to throat widths from 70 mm or 80 mm depending on the version.
• Either screwless installation (with assembly foam) or mechanical anchoring (e.g. 6 flat-iron anchors).
• Suitable for door weights up to 120 kg depending on variant.
• Available in a primed version for on-site painting.
• Optional powder coating in RAL or custom colours; powder coating is GSB-certified, with high gloss and colour stability, excellent adhesion, corrosion resistance, high surface hardness and abrasion resistance.

Installation (Overview)

• Fit the optional counterholder to the frame foot (one counterholder per side depending on version/requirement).
• Align and fix the frame to the wall.
• Perform partial or full backfilling of the fixed frame according to door weight and version.
• After backfill curing, complete assembly: insert the socket frame into the clamp tabs.
