PACIFICO, CULTURE AS A WAY TO BUILD PEACE A paradox that takes shape: a wall that, instead of dividing, unites thanks to the power of knowledge. A wall made of books that turns into a bulwark of peace and hope for the future. Freely inspired by a symbolic picture from Kiev, Pacifico is the brand new bookcase designed by Lapo Ciatti, a book shelter that lies against the wall, metaphorically becoming the meeting point of culture and knowledge. The name of this piece of furniture also recalls historical roots: Pacificus was the archdeacon who, during the Carolingian age, actively contributed to the development of the Biblioteca Capitolare in Verona, the most ancient library in the Western world, still open today. Like a common thread connecting Pacifico and Ptolomeo, this is a tribute to those who have brought culture to the world. In fact, both Ptolemy I Soter – hence the iconic Ptolomeo collection – and Pacificus were illustrious personalities who have contributed to the spread of knowledge and whom Opinion Ciatti wants to celebrate with its products. A wall-mounted steel bookcase, Pacifico stands out for its modularity. Available in four different modules, it can be combined in countless compositions to fit the requirements of every project. The design of the Pacifico bookcase is as essential as it is studied in detail. It is composed of two wall-mounted vertical steel uprights that can accommodate – depending on the chosen version – shelves, bookends, but also an optional desk that makes this bookcase ideal as a functional home office corner. A product that blends in with the surrounding space without ever losing its outstanding character.
